Meal Plan Monday 6- Children’s Books

You know when you’re scrolling through your news feed and you see a chocolate cake and suddenly you NEED chocolate cake? No? Just me? Well, it gets better…. You know when you’re reading your children Green Eggs and Ham and suddenly the only menu items you can think of for the week are inspired by children’s books? See where I’m going with this?

So, without further delay, your menu:

Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs by Judi Barrett: our favorite meatball recipe comes from a recipe for Italian wedding soup. I am always glad when I make extra to pop in the freezer. They’re just that good.

Stone Soup by Ann Mcgovern: Now, there are many different versions of this book by many different authors which means there are many different recipes. I mean, even Dolly Parton has a recipe. We decided to stay true to the book and follow that “recipe” (well, we didn’t take meat bones out of the dog house, but we did buy ham bones from the butcher). This is one the kids can make almost entirely by themselves while you read along… (washed) stone and all.

Dragons Love Tacos by Adam Rubin: The Kendall Family loves tacos too.

If You Give a Pig a Pancake by Laura Numeroff: This twist on the classic If You Give a Mouse a Cookie doesn’t disappoint. The illustrations are so spot on. Plus, this means we get to have breakfast for dinner… again!

Thank you for going on this journey with me. I hope you had fun. Up next week: Meal Plan Monday- You Eat What You Kill… I’m just kidding. But seriously, check back next week for some more meal plans. Hey, I do the planning so you don’t have to!
